With so many stories in the news about the threats to British holiday makers it is no wonder more people are choosing to have stay-cations this summer. I have been going to Cornwall for the last 20 years and I am still discovering new places to visit. We always go camping to Hayle because the beaches are beautiful, the scenery is breath taking and it is central to explore all that Cornwall has to offer. Here I will share with you different holiday locations so you can choose which suits you and your family.
If you love surfing then Campsites in Newquay will offer you all you need, not to mention the amazing pasties that are mandatory to keep your energy levels high for a day on the beach. If like me, you like to have a mooch around the shops then St Ives is great for picking up beautiful jewellery and hand made crafts. There is also some amazing sea food restaurants that over looking the harbour area, just watch out for the sea gulls if you prefer fish and chips because they really are as scary as what they say on the TV.
I know that some of you would prefer to chill out and lounge on the beach all day and the golden sands at Porthcurno Beach are like no other on earth when the sun is shining. If you prefer to explore castles and national trust sites then St Michaels Mount is for you, just a short drive from Penzance, you can take a walk across the causeway at low tide and climb the steps to the home of St Aubyn family, there you can dig in to the history of the family and take a look at the breath taking views from inside the castle.
You will find campsites all around the cornish coast but it is wise to book in advance and you will find that the ones closer to the beaches are booked up. By looking in land you will find sites that are more affordable for those of you that have a tight budget. It really does depend on what you want from a campsite. For me the most important part is being able to relax and have time with the family so I stay at a site that offers spotless toilet and shower blocks and the option to go in to the hustle and bustle of what the cornish coast has to offer when you choose too.
What ever you like to do during your summer vacations Cornwall has it all and I would recommend what ever you do while you are there, you must sample a cream tea or two. Philps Pasties has the best around and let me tell you I have tried them all.
