Such a great way to relax, stretch your body out, and to find inner peace…
But, what goes unmentioned a lot about yoga is that it can have such a positive impact on your mental health just as much as you physical health.
You see, doing yoga can lead to such positives to your mental health such as these few things:
- Yoga can help with depression and/or anxiety, as it can help reduce blood pressure & heart rate whilst also improving respiration.
- Yoga can reduce the effects that cones from traumatic experiences, people who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD for short, tend to have nightmares and/or flashbacks that come from negative occurrences in their lives. Yoga can be a good way to counter-attack the long-term effects of these negative experiences.
- Yoga is a good thing to do in order to have a clear mindset. Doing the appropriate exercises from yoga can help you to be a better thinker when it comes to do things and making important decisions.
- Yoga can help you fight back against any mental health issues you have. Doing yoga can have a positive influence on your mindset, which helps you fight back against any psychological issues you face from any mental illness you have.
So that’s just a few of things that doing yoga can lead to in terms of better mental health.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to stretch my body out and make sure my yin and yang meet in harmony (whilst sitting painfully with my legs crossed on the floor…).
